Equipment
Thanks for stopping by to check out my set-up. Your basses and equipment end
up as big contributors to your musical personality.
Pedal Board

This is my pedal set-up. It is actually simpler than it looks. This left side accommodates my upright bass with a Fishman pre-amp and a Boss chromatic tuner. The right side is a single Digitech effects pedal which doubles as a tuner for the electric side. The A/B switch allows me to switch between the two environments. It is like a reverse Y set-up. Two inputs feed into a single output. When necessary, The single output is connected to the Whirlwind IMP2 direct box which contains an XLR out to the PA.
Amp and Cabinets

The Acoustic 370 head in this picture was old when I bought it in about 1977. Since then I have dragged it all around the world (even to Greenland). I still use the matching rear loaded 18 inch cabinet in the background. However, I recently acquired the Goliath III cabinet enclosure housing 4 10 inch speakers and a tweeter. This gives me plenty of punch. For larger gigs without a backline, I sometimes will use both cabinets.
4 string P-Bass

This is my 1964 Fender Precision Bass. It has always been a favorite of producers and engineers for recording sessions because of it's signature P-Bass sound. I played this bass on the tracks I recorded for Firefall in the 1980s.

This is my 1976 Music Man Stingray bass. I bought this in 1981. It is the perfect slap bass and has that Musicman sound that you'd recognize with your eyes closed. With this bass in my hand I have never coveted anybody else's 4 string bass.
This is my 5 string fretless Warwick Corvette bass. The sound of this is great before you even plug it in. I practice and play this bass often. I bring this bass with me to my private lessons (which I take with professor Don Coffman).
This is a Carlo Robelli six string. It is a cheap model bass that plays just fine. I am using this to get acquainted with 6 string playing . It

This is Bertha. I bought her in New York and had her shipped down. Upright bass has been a big part of my playing lately and I take Bertha to most gigs. I am hoping to get an opportunity to play some jazz gigs in the future.
